Winter is closing in and the temps are falling as the howling winds rise and cascade down the flanks of the Blue Ridge. A weekend around Winchester was mildly relaxing. An attempt to ice climb in the park brought disappointment after a long hike ended in a view of the falls that promised no safe ascent of its sparsely frozen face. As the daylight was sucked west over the ridges, flurries swept through the trees on our hike back to the car. Another night trying to make the best of going out in Winchester proved to be the usual scenario. At least the holidays and the good times they promise to bring are on the horizon.

Nice blog n talking with you tonight. You all should go huntin for some WVA steaming hot springs. Perfect season for looking for where steam rises where the water starts.
What is Chad contemplating, while staring through misty eyes at the great frozen void?
burger king?
You write well. Love, Gram
Hey Jesse, I showed your blog to a couple of french teachers today and they couldn't get over the photos of you making wine... they thought that was hilarious! I'm not even sure why, but anyway, your blog was a big hit.
