A Sportrunner drive down and out to the back roads of West Virginia Friday. When we arrived at camp Matt, Marshall and Evan had the campfires burning and the cold pops on ice. The weather plummeted just below freezing that night, making for a sound sleep in a warm down bag. Morning broke as it can only once a year as we walked out onto the New River Gorge Bridge to watch the brave throw themselves into the 876 vertical feet of cold air between the bridge and the raging river below. After seeing enough jumps we hit the corn dog stand out and headed down to the climbing area just below the bridge deck. Climbing, cooking out and sleep again. Sunday we went out to Endless wall and climbed until we could no longer drown out the screams of the workweek ahead of us. A quick drive back home and another great Bridge Day weekend in the memory banks.
