Wednesday morning William and I boarded the train outside his place bound for New York City. A quick glide up the tracks to Manhattan and we were rolling our luggage across the streets south to Greenwich Village to meet Karie at Puck Fair, an Irish Pub. After a few libations we walked a few blocks, luggage in tow, to the famed restaurant One if by Land, Two if by Sea. The sound of live piano spilled out into the street as we opened the door. Greeted by the hostess we were shown a private room where we could store our luggage. Dinner was amazing. The breads and amuse-bouche pleasantly teased our appetites for the evening. I had the lobster ravioli and their signature beef wellington. We ordered dessert and to our great surprise they not only brought the dishes the three of us had ordered, but one of each on the menu with dessert wines, compliments of the house. When the check arrived we were afraid to open the envelope knowing the experience was going to put a hurting on our wallets; although completely worth every penny. Karie opened the bill, however inside there was no check, just a card that read "Cheers, Mom"! Thanks so much Mom! We had no idea she even knew what night we were going to dine there, it really put the night over the top! With full stomachs and a lot of luggage we decided against the Subway and took a cab over to Karie's apartment in Brooklyn.

Hanging out in the apartment late night.

Karie's apartment is wonderful and so are her roommates Emily and Alex. We had no trouble making ourselves at home.

A few photos from inside the St. Patrick cathedral.

Saturday morning we headed out to Brighton Beach, the weather was very Russian.

Karie at Brighton Beach.

Lunch at 'wichcraft was on time! Sage turkey with caramelized balsamic onion marmalade, bacon, avocado and ailoi on ciabatta.

Friday afternoon we ate at DiFara's, the best pizza joint in NYC. Its nothing more than a hole in the wall, but the pizza that comes out of there has no equal. An elderly man named Dom, the owner, makes each pie to order, no one else is allowed to cook. Each ingredient is flown in from Italy, except for the Basil, which is from Israel. We ordered our pie with roasted red peppers, roasted baby artichoke, and pepperoni. Hands down, best pizza I've ever had.
